Refere Marc Goddard’s official stoppage of Mark Hunt vs. Frank Mir at UFC Brisbane was apparently of no issue to Frank Mir and his team.
While the UFC Brisbane co-main event saw Neil Magny TKO Hector Lombard in round 3 of a fight that should’ve otherwise been stopped late in round 2 by referee Steve Perceval, it was a different story in the main event between Mark Hunt and Frank Mir. A right hand by Hunt sent Mir down to the canvas, and Hunt walked away before Marc Goddard could even officially waive the fight off.
Perhaps due to the nature of this fight happening right after Magny-Lombard, the MMA community as a whole was decidedly in agreement with the timing of the stoppage, which marked yet another walk-off KO for Hunt. If you were one of the few who believed that it was called off prematurely (by both Hunt and Goddard), Marc himself tweeted on Monday that Mir and his team thanked him for ending the bout.
@theRealEnzoMac thanks mate. Yes frank was OUT. Clearly. It’s why he lay there for 30 seconds after! Thanks again pal hope you’re well.

As for Mark Hunt, he told the media in the post-fight press conference that Mir was out, hence he didn’t bother to attack with additional punches.
Well, it’s true,” Hunt said. “He wasn’t there. He was blacked out.”
