Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is continuing to trim its bloated roster. According to MMA Fighting, the promotion has released Jordan Espinosa and Shana Dobson following their most recent losses inside the Octagon.

Espinosa came up short to Tim Elliott on the UFC 259 “Prelims,” losing a unanimous decision last Sat. night (March 6) in Las Vegas, Nevada. The loss was his second in a row, and four of five overall. During his stint with the promotion Espinoza only managed to rack up a 2-6 record.

As for Dobson, she was knocked out by Casey O’Neill at UFC Vegas 19 a few weeks ago. The defeat marked her fourth loss in five tries bring her UFC record to an underwhelming 2-4, as well.

UFC president Dana White promised that the promotion would be making cuts in order to make room for new blood coming in, leading to the company let go of fighters such as Yoel Romero, Anderson Silva, Alistair Overeem, Junior dos Santos, just to name a few.

It could also be a big reason why the promotion didn’t renew Megan Anderson’s contract following her submission loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 259.
