Light heavyweights Jimmy Crute and Jamahal Hill are set to fight this October.

A pair of light heavyweights who both recently suffered stoppage losses will look to rebound at a Fight Night event this October, as Jimmy Crute is set to fight Jamahal Hill.

ESPN first reported the matchup, though the UFC is yet to officially announce the fight. The October 2nd event is expected to be headlined by an important light heavyweight between Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker.

Since he was signed by the promotion after impressing on the Contender Series, Crute (12-2) has gone 4-2 in the UFC. ‘The Brute’ picked up consecutive first round finishes in 2020 against Michal Oleksiejczuk and Modestas Bukauskas. Most recently, Crute was defeated by Anthony Smith in April after a foot injury left him unable to continue.

Hill (8-1, 1NC), another Contender Series standout, suffered his first defeat as a professional when Paul Craig dislocated his elbow with a nasty armbar at UFC 263 last month. The #15 ranked Hill won three consecutive fights before his recent loss, with his win against Klidson Abreu being overturned to a no-contest after Hill tested positive for marijuana.
