Two fights are targeted for the UFC’s trip to Singapore this June.
For the third time in the promotion’s history, the UFC will be staging a fight card in Singapore. This year’s edition is set for June 23rd, per Combate journalist Raphael Marinho. No specific venue or broadcast platform has been announced, although the last two Singapore events aired on UFC Fight Pass, so one might expect the same to happen here.
Two fights are already lined up for the event. Strawweight Nadia Kassem will look to keep her unbeaten record intact against China’s Yan Xiaonan, while Jenel Lausa battles fellow flyweight Ashkan Mokhtarian (13-3).
Kassem (5-0) won her debut over veteran Alex Chambers last November, while Xiaonan (8-1) defeated Kailin Curran at UFC Shanghai. Lausa (7-4) has yet to win in the UFC, dropping decisions to Magomed Bibulatov and Eric Shelton. The same is true for Mokhtarian (13-3), who lost to John Moraga by decision and was recently knocked out by Ryan Benoit. This could very well be a loser leaves town matchup.
Last year, the UFC Singapore main event saw Holly Holm knock out Bethe Correia with a third-round head kick.
