Top ranked lightweight contenders, Dan Hooker and Dustin Poirier, are expected to hook ‘em up at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 175 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, set to go down on Sat., May 16, 2020 inside Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California.
The opening odds have Hooker listed as the +160 underdog to “The Diamond,” who currently enjoys a -200 betting line. That’s according to the number crunchers over at Best Fight Odds, though I would expect “The Hangman” to close the gap as we get closer to fight night.
Poirier (25-6, 1 NC) is looking to rebound from his unanimous decision loss to reigning lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, who submitted the Louisiana native in the UFC 242 main event last September.
As for Hooker (20-8), he’s captured three straight wins at 155 pounds, including last month’s “Fight of the Night” against Paul Felder. The Aussie sits at No. 5 in the official rankings, three spots behind Poirier at No. 2.
