Check out the finishes from the UFC Shanghai prelims, including an anaconda choke finish from Zabit Magomedsharipov.
While last week’s UFC Sydney card was a bit of a dud in terms of finishes, UFC Shanghai featured eight stoppages out of twelve total fights, so anyone who wanted some entertainment out of a low-profile card got what they asked for.
The preliminary card was where five of the event’s finishes occurred, and you can watch them all right here on Bloody Elbow. We start things off with Cyril Asker’s rear-naked choke of late-replacement Hu Yaozong.
THAT’S IT! @SilverbackAsker flattens out Yaozong and gets the tap in round ??#UFCShanghai pic.twitter.com/qRVwRnoy2Y

Next up is perhaps the surprise outcome of the card, as Shamil Abdurakhimov knocked out Chase Sherman in just 84 seconds.

19-year-old Song Yadong impressed in his UFC debut, as he floored fellow newcomer Bharat Kandare with a right hand, then tapped him out with a front choke.

Song Kenan took home $50,000 in bonus money with his 15-second knockout of Bobby Nash, whose days in the UFC are surely numbered after suffering his third (T)KO loss in as many Octagon appearances.
That escalated quickly ….#UFCShanghai pic.twitter.com/RJmoMNBYaP

Last but not least, featherweight prospect Zabit Magomedsharipov improved to 2-0 in the UFC, and he looks every bit the part of a future contender. Against Sheymon Moraes, the 6’2” Russian was well on his way to a decision win, but he went for style points and submitted the Brazilian with a brutal anaconda choke. Magomedsharipov then celebrated with a double kick of Max Holloway’s face on the UFC 218 advertisement. And yes, Zabit received $50,000 for his sensational performance.
THIS GUY!!@Zabit_MMA puts on another spectacular performance and finishes Moraes in round 3! Unreal! #UFCShanghai pic.twitter.com/3gsxmPlmbo
