The would-be July scrap between Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez now has a new date.

In May, we were all treated with the news about the announcement of a featherweight scrap between former champion Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez for July. But in a rare turn of events, Holloway ended up pulling out due to injury, and the pairing was eventually discarded.

Fortunately for us fight fans, the organization wasn’t willing to let this one go just like that. According to TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter, the UFC is planning to re-book the fight as the headliner for its November 13 Fight Night event.

The 29-year-old Holloway last saw action in January when he put on a performance to remember against Calvin Kattar. Along with a dominant unanimous decision victory and a $50,000-worthy performance, he also set a record for the most significant strike attempts in a single fight with 744.

As for the 28-year-old Rodriguez, he last stepped inside the Octagon in October 2019 when he defeated Jeremy Stephens via unanimous decision. In December, it was revealed that “El Pantera” had committed three Whereabouts Failure violations with USADA, which resulted in a six-month suspension.

The venue for the said event has yet to be finalized.
