UFC to hold second event in Manila, Philippines this October

The UFC will be back in the Philippines on October 15th for its second event in the country.

The UFC will be coming back to Philippine shores this year, to hold their second event in the country.

The card, which will be broadcasted through Fight Pass, will be held on October 15th, at the Mall of Asia Arena. It is the same venue that housed last year’s debut Philippine event on May 16th, headlined by featherweights Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber.

UFC Asia’s Executive Vice President & General Manager Kenneth Berger promises nothing less than a memorable show for Filipino fans.

“The consistently warm reception we receive from Filipino fans and last year’s sold out event shows us that UFC has an incredibly strong following in the country,” Berger said. “Manila is a fighting city and we hope to put on another unforgettable show that will capture the hearts of Filipino sports fans throughout the country.”

No fights have been announced as of this posting, but the inclusion of bantamweight returnee John Dodson is one possibility. Dodson, who is part Filipino, is currently in the country to announce the event and to do the media rounds.

“The Magician” last saw action in April in his return to the 135-pound division, where he won via first round TKO against Manvel Gamburyan.
