Check out which fighters won performance bonuses from UFC Fight Night: Shevchenko vs. Carmouche 2.

Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay was home to a decent night of fights. The card saw two(T)KOs, three submissions and eight decisions, including three split-decisions.

Performances of the Night: Veronica Macedo, Volkan Oezdemir

Veronica Macedo snagged a quick, 68-second victory when she submitted Polyana Viana. After a brief kicking exchange that saw Macedo end up on the ground after missing a spinning back kick, Viana managed to trap Veronica’s arm under her arm. Macedo defended well, though, and grabbed an armbar, forcing the tap from Viana.

Volkan Oezdemir scored a gnarly knockout victory on the world’s only living centaur, Ilir Latifi. After dominating the man-horse hybrid with a varied array of ferocious striking in the first round, Latifi was looking to swing the momentum in his direction in the second. Oezdemir was not to be denied and found purchase on just about everything he threw. Latifi was barely able to stand when a huge left put him face down on the mat. The referee immediately intervened, and the fight was over.

Fight of the Night: Vicente Luque vs. Mike Perry

Vincente Luque and Mike Perry put on a fantastic back-and-forth scrap that went to a split-decision. Perry looked more composed than we’ve seen him in past fights and resisted the urge to rush in swinging wildly. He still has issues with leg kicks and fighting off his back foot, though, and it showed against the more technical Brazilian. Luque adjusted his attack to provide answers for everything Perry did, and in the last couple minutes of the fight, landed a big knee that sent Perry’s nose in three different directions, a punctuation of his intelligent performance that netted him the victory. Both men showed improvements, and both are more than deserving of the fight of the night bonus they earned.
