Check out which fighters won performance bonuses from UFC Vegas 14: Felder vs. Dos Anjos

The UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas, Nevada was home to a great night of fights at UFC Vegas 14: Felder vs. Dos Anjos. The card saw two (T)KOs and seven decisions, including two split-decisions.

The prelims opened up with a scrap between Don’Tale Mayes and Roque Martinez that saw Mayes take the unanimous decision. That was followed by Alex Morono defeating Rhy McKee after dominating the fight. There was a 5-minute period where McKee lost his mouthpiece under the mat, so someone had to be sent under the cage to search for it. Tony Gravely and Geraldo de Frietas’ battle would go to a split-decision with Gravely taking the win. Kanako Murata outclassed Randa markos to get the unanimous decision to wrap the undercard.

The main card opened with a super entertaining scrap between Kay Hansen and Cory McKenna. McKenna ended up taking the unanimous decision, but I personally thought Hansen did just enough to take it. Wasn’t a robbery by any means, though. Sean Strickland knocked Brendan Allen out in the second after a 2-piece combo dropped Allen. Strickland would follow him down to finish the sequence. Ashley Yoder beat highly touted prospect Miranda Granger via unanimous decision and Khaos Williams absolutely starched Abdul Razak Alhassan with a perfectly placed right that dropped Alhassan. Williams followed him down to land one more huge haymaker that caused Alhassan to stiffen before the ref could intervene. Williams is the first person to finish Alhassan.

The main event went pretty much the way pundits thought, with dos Anjos winning the rounds with takedowns and more effective striking. Felder ended up with a nasty cut off a massive left from RDA that continued bleeding all through the rest of the fight. In the end, dos Anjos just dominated him constantly. Paul is just too tough for his own good and RDA looked like the world beater once again. Somehow, a judge scored the fight 48-47 for Felder despite the other two scoring it 50-45 RDA, which is how I had it scored, as well.

Performance of the Night: Sean Strickland, Khaos Williams

Sean Strickland (TKO (punches) at 1:32 of round 2) and Khaos Williams (KO (punch) at :30 of round 1) both finished their fights before the final horn and both would take home $50K bonuses.

Fight of the Night: Paul Felder vs. Rafael Dos Anjos

Don’Tale Mayes (30-27, 30-27, 29-28), Alex Morono (30-27 x3), Tony Gravely (30-27, 28-29, 29-28), Kanako Murata (30-27 x3), Cory McKenna (29-28 x2), Ashley Yoder (30-26, 29-27, 29-27) and Rafael dos Anjos (50-45 x2, 47-48) all went the distance in their respective fights but it would be Paul Felder and Rafael Dos Anjos’s entertaining battle that would take the FOTN bonus.
