Saturday night’s (Nov. 28, 2020) UFC Vegas 15 event has lost another fight. According to MMA Junkie, the scheduled Flyweight bout between Amir Albazi and Zhalgas Zhumagulov has been scrapped after Zhumagulov ran into some passport issues on his way to Las Vegas, Nevada.
The bout was set to take place on the undercard, which streams on ESPN+.
Given the fact that we are just three nights away from showtime — and it being the holidays — the promotion decided to removed Albazi from the event altogether because finding a short-notice replacement would have been a tough task. We can expect the promotion to rebook the fight as soon as possible since there are three more events planned before 2020 comes to an end.
Albazi was looking to score his second straight win inside the Octagon, while Zhumagulov was hoping to bounce back after suffering a loss in his UFC debut at UFC 251 earlier this year on “Fight Island.”
Earlier in the week, it was announced that a fight between Renato Moicano and Rafael Fiziev was removed from the event after Moicano tested positive for COVID-19. That fight will now take place at UFC 256 on Dec. 12, 2020.
UFC Vegas 15 will feature a hard-hitting Heavyweight affair as Curtis Blaydes locks horns with Derrick Lewis.
