Check out the results and highlights from the UFC Vegas 2 prelims, where several bouts like Tyson Nam vs. Zarrukh Adashev ended in less than 60-seconds.
The UFC Vegas 2 preliminary card contained some explosive and quick finishes, that saw three different bouts end in under 60-seconds. Capping off the preliminary card, the tireless Merab Dvalishvili picked up another dominant decision win, this time at the expense of UFC newcomer, Gustavo Lopez. A constant pace and mixture of wrestling and striking kept Dvalishvili in the driver seat for just about all of this fight. Don’t look now, but Merab is now riding a four-fight winning wave. Also on the prelims, Julia Avila let out her primal side at UFC Vegas 2 when she ran right threw Gina Mazany in a sporty 22-seconds. Avila bombarded Mazany with endless strikes right out of the gate, promoting the referee to call the standing TKO. This makes two up and two down for Avila in her UFC career.
In the flyweight division, the heavy handed Tyson Nam brutally knocked out former GLORY kickboxer, Zarrukh Adashev, in just 32-seconds This was a violent one, and this is a level of power that is rarely seen at 125-pounds. The epic highlight reel finish breaks up a two-fight losing skid for Nam. Opening up the event, Christian Aguilera picked up a swift TKO of Anthony Ivy in just 59-seconds. Aguilera let his punches go right out of the gate, and didn’t stop until the referee made him. What a great way for Aguilera to make his UFC debut and extend his winning streak to three.

Prelims:
Merab Dvalishvili def. Gustavo Lopez by unanimous decision (30-26 x2, 30-25): 140-pounds
Dvalishvili got to work right away, throwing out hard solo strikes while threatening with a closing of the distance. All Lopez could seem to do was react to what Dvalishvili was throwing his way. Dvalishvili got himself a takedown and fought hard to keep Lopez there. Some really hard ground strikes connected for Dvalishvili just before the bell to put an exclamation point on the round.
Dvalishvili staggered his opponent in the opening sequence of the second act, which brought a smile out of Lopez. A takedown was soon to follow, with Dvalishvili locking down the top position with much more control than the previous round. He went hard for scarf choke, squeezing the hold for quite some time. Lopez hung tough, escaped, and worked his way back to his feet. Lopez tried to throw strikes, but Dvalishvili just took him right back down.
It took about minute for Dvalishvili to get the fight to the ground int he final round. He controlled and chipped away as Lopez tried to scramble beneath him. When Lopez did stand back up, Dvalishvili simply took him right back down. This happened on a few occasions, rendering Lopez predominantly defensive for most of the frame.
