Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado are here to breakdown this Saturday’s, February 20th, ‘UFC VEGAS 20: ROZENSTRUIK VS. GANE’ event. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall events.

Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado are back tonight, Saturday, February 27th., 2021, to breakdown the ‘UFC VEGAS 20: ROZENSTRUIK VS. GANE’ (aka: UFC Fight Night 186, UFC on ESPN+ 44) event, which was broadcast from the APEX Center, Las Vegas, Nevada. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event in the player above, or on our Bloody Elbow Presents YouTube Channel and BE Presents Podcast Network. (SPOILERS…)

In the main event we had expected to see Former Light Heavyweight Championship challenger Dominick Reyes and former Rizin Light Heavyweight Champion Ji?í Procházka set to be our headliner, but last month Reyes pulled out due to injury, so we will have to watch for that bout to occur sometime in the future. Instead, for our main event tonight we got to see 32-yr-old South American ‘Bigi Boy’, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, with his impressive 11-1 record, return to the octagon after a six month break from UFC action to take on 30-yr-old French brawler Ciryl ‘Bon Gamin’ Gane, with his undefeated 7-0 professional MMA record. These two Heavyweight contenders were set to do battle in a couple weeks at UFC Vegas 21, but they pushed this bout up to fill tonight’s main event, which ended in a humdrum decision victory for Gane.

In the co-main event, we had a Light HW clash between Ukrainian Nikita ‘The Miner’ Krylov, who entered the octagon with a 27-7 record vs. the Russian combatant Magomed Ankalaev, with his 14-1 record, on a five-fight win streak… the competitive Russian monster mixed it up with punch/kick – kick/punch combos and ultimately used his superior grappling skills to obtain his sixth win in a row, tonight it was via Decision.

Also on the card, we had an eventful FOTN performance put on by Pedro Munhoz and Jimmie Rivera. Earlier on we had an exciting POTN bout between rising prospect Ronnie Lawrence (7-1) vs. Vince Cachero, which ended via TKO-G & P in the last round… which was the only finish on the card that didn’t go to the judges scorecards.

Overall, this whittled down 9-bout card did not see any first round finishes, or subs, and only one exciting KO/TKO, the other eight bouts ended in decisions – including the Main Event. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Ronnie Lawrence; FOTN honors went to Pedro Munhoz vs. Jimmie Rivera. What a night of fights we have to share with you, join us to discuss all the action…
