Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado are here tonight, Saturday, April 10th., 2021, to breakdown the ‘UFC VEGAS 23: ‘VETTORI VS HOLLAND’ event, which was broadcast from the APEX Center, Las Vegas, Nevada. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event in the player above, or on our Bloody Elbow Presents YouTube Channel and BE Presents Podcast Network. (SPOILERS…)

Returning to the octagon for the main event, we had a middleweight clash between the impressive Marvin ‘The Italian Dream’ Vettori, who was coming at this bout on a decent four-fight win streak, with a 16-3-1 career record and Kevin ‘Trailblazer’ Holland, who was on a four-fight win streak himself until his recent loss to Brunson, he now carries a 21-6 career record.

In the co-main, we had featherweight bout between Arnold ‘Almighty’ Allen, and ‘Super’ Sodiq Yusuff, resulting in a unanimous decision win for Allen.

Prior to that, we had a surprising submission win from Julian Marquez over Smilin’ Sam Alvey in the second round, that would lead to a Fight of the Night bonus being awarded for the first time in awhile now. Right before this, we had a mere 4 minute and 48 second women’s strawweight tilt between Mackenzie Dern and Nina Ansaroff, which ended in a slick armbar at the hands of Dern, bringing her to an 11-1 record and looking to take on someone in the top five of her division next, while also taking home a POTN bonus. This was preceded by a fully-packed eight-bout undercard.

Overall, this now 13-bout card saw two exhilarating first round finishes, three submissions, two exciting KO/TKO’s, and eight decisions – including two Split, and a five-round Decision for our main event. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Mackenzie Dern & Mateusz Gamrot; FOTN honors went to Sam Alvey vs. Julian Marquez. What a night of fights we have to share with you, join us to discuss all the action…
