UFC Vegas 29 video highlights: ‘The Korean Zombie’ gets the better of of Dan Ige

The top of the UFC Vegas 29 billing saw the company’s #4 rated featherweight, Chan Sung Jung win a unanimous nod over the #8 rated, Dan Ige. “The Korean Zombie” did his thing on the feet, as well as in the grappling department. Despite a game effort, Jung was a step ahead of Ige to get himself back in the win column.

Ige got ahead early, throwing out a bunch of volume while Zombie sat back looking to counter. Zombie then worked his ground attack, scoring a takedown and controlling from the top. Both men were willing to stand and trade in the second act, but it was Zombie who did the first meaningful damage. He dropped Ige with his opening punching combo of the round, and also finished the frame with back control. Zombie went right back to the ground in the third round, controlling his foe from the back and keeping Ige defensive for the whole round.

Ige would have a better fourth round, spending much more time on his feet than the previous round. He was able to throw out a bunch of volume, but Zombie ultimately found top position again. Ige would rally in the final round, landing mean body punches before coming over the top. Zombie was forced to shoot for takedowns, but Ige stayed on his feet. A well-placed knee from Zombie led to him taking the back of Ige, and that’s where the fight stayed.

Zombie with a big shot right away! Ige goes down! But he’s right back up and good to go. KZ looking to jab, and so is Ige. Ige catches a kick and lands a right. Zombie with a counter left. Inside leg kick from Ige. A big lead right from Zombie. Ige lands to the body. Another big right over the top from Zombie! Ige shoots but Zombie defends with a hammerlock. Ige perseveres on the fence, but they separate. Hard low kick from Zombie. Jab from Ige, right from Zombie. Slapping left and a body shot from Ige and he looks for another takedown attempt. Zombie turns him again. Ige tries to grab is arm but Zombie deftly defends and takes the back with a body triangle. Easy 10-9 Zombie, but he’s bleeding.
