Check out the betting odds for Saturday’s UFC on ESPN+ card, where Cynthia Calvillo is favored over Jessica Eye in the main event.
UFC Vegas is set to go down this Saturday, June 13th, from the promotion’s APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card’s featured matchup is getting the UFC’s #10 ranked strawweight, Cynthia Calvillo, stepping up a division to take on the #1 ranked women’s flyweight, Jessica Eye. It should be noted that Eye, amongst others, missed weight for this event. Bloody Elbow is back to provide you with the betting lines!
The oddsmaker are siding with Cynthia Calvillo to get passed Jessica Eye in the UFC Vegas main event, but not by much. The ranked strawweight clocks in with a slightly favored moneyline of -130, while the even higher rated flyweight is barely holding onto an underdog tag of +115.
After losing a decision to former strawweight champ Carla Esparza in 2017, Calvillo pieced together back to back wins before drawing even with Marina Rodriguez in her last outing. After suffering brutal knockout at the hands, or rather the foot, of the UFC’s dominant flyweight queen, Valentina Shevchenko, Eye got herself back in the win column in her last outing with a decision win over Viviane Araujo. There’s tons of weirdness at play here on top of all of the Covid-19 precautions. One fighter moving up a division always add a bit of wonder to the equation, and 10x that when the larger combatant hits the scales overweight. This wonkiness alone sounds reasonable enough for these betting lines to be as tight as they are.
The over/under for this 25-minute affair has been set at 4.5 rounds. The ‘Over’ option is strongly favored here with a betting line of -220, with a +190 comeback on the ‘Under.’ Judging by the over/under prop, it’s expected to see the bookies favoring this bout to reach the scorecards. The exotic wager ‘Fight goes to decision’ owns a favored tick of -215, with its counterpart, ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision,’ on deck as a +170 underdog.
If this fight is to go the distance, then which fighter will be the one to earn the nod? Well, despite Calvillo being the betting favorite, the odds peg Eye as the one more likely to win on points. The ‘Eye wins by decision’ proposition is trending at a line of +160, while the ‘Calvillo wins by decision’ bet is hovering around with a larger underdog line of +205.
