Former UFC welterweight Erick Silva will take on Nick Barnes at the main event of LFA 45.
Erick Silva is not done just yet. After a 6-year UFC run, the 33-year-old was cut from the promotion following a two-fight losing skid, but it seems he doesn’t wish to wait around for too long before a comeback. On its own Twitter page, Legacy Fighting Championship announced Silva to headlined their upcoming July 20 card, against Nick Barnes, in Coachella Valley, California.

A former Jungle Fight welterweight champion, Erick Silva (19-9) ended his UFC stint with a 7-8 record and a couple of losses to Yancy Medeiros and Jordan Mein in his last outings. During his run, Silva shared the Octagon with high profile names such as Jon Fitch, Dong Hyun Kim, Matt Brown and Josh Koscheck. His last UFC fight happened on December 16, 2017.
Nick Barnes (12-3) will also look to bounce back from a loss himself, as he was knocked out by current UFC fighter Curtis Millender, in January. Before the defeat, ‘The Phoenix’ bested Chad Curry via split decision in August 2017.
