UFC welterweight fighter Brad Scott is the latest fighter on the list of recent drug test failures that were flagged by USADA.
UFC welterweight Brad Scott is the latest fighter on the roster to get a taste of USADA’s stringent drug testing procedure. On Tuesday, the company was notified about his drug test failure during a sample collected in late May.
While the substance in question has yet to be specified, the UFC immediately released an official statement on the matter through its website.
The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed athlete Bradley Scott of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an in-competition sample collected on May 27, 2018.
USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case involving Bradley Scott. Under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair legal process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.
The 29-year-old Scott has not exactly been performing well since making his debut in 2012. Racking up a 3-5 record in the UFC, so far, he is currently on a two-fight losing streak, with the most recent one being a split decision verdict courtesy of Carlo Pedersoli Jr. in Liverpool in May.
