Watch Colby Covington knock out TyQuil Woodley at a pro wrestling event.
Colby Covington is really pushing for a title fight against reigning UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, and ‘Chaos’ has gone to all kinds of lengths to grab ‘T-Wood’s’ attention.
Covington’s latest stunt was a professional wrestling match at WrestlePro in Rahway, New Jersey, where the top-three ranked UFC welterweight contender knocked out ‘TyQuil Woodley’ with a head kick in the first round.
TyQuil, who played his role as a fake Tyron Woodley, was notably larger than the current champ and came to the ring with a fake UFC belt. The ring announcer also did his best imitation of Bruce Buffer, announcing the match-up with Buffer’s signature ‘IT’S TIME!’ catchphrase.
Covington posted a video of the wrestling match on Twitter, mocking Woodley about their past sparring sessions at American Top Team (ATT).
#NerdBash2018 kicked off at @wrestlepro in Rahway this weekend. It’s always a pleasure to see @twooodley, he’s always on top of his game and in great shape. This round lasted longer than our last one. Enjoy. https://t.co/WkXqGWNdFx

Covington, 29, is on a five-fight win streak and broke into the upper echelon of the welterweight division with his decision win over former title challenger and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu expert Demian Maia at UFC Fight Night 119 in October.
Woodley, who defended his title against Maia at UFC 214, is currently nursing a shoulder injury and hopes to return to the Octagon in the first quarter of 2018. The 35-year-old has mostly ignored Covington’s insults but, as per UFC rankings, is likely to lock horns with the top contender in the near-future.
