Upcoming welterweight prospect Aaron Chalmers will fight Ashley Griffiths at Bellator 200.
UK celebrity Aaaron Chalmer’s has signed a deal with Bellator MMA and will make his promotional debut against fellow Brit Ashley Griffiths at Bellator 200 at the SSE Arena in London, England.
MMA Fighting’s Peter Carroll reports that Chalmers, 3-0, has been granted a ‘conditional one-fight release’ from UK MMA promotion BAMMA to compete at Bellator 200.
Bellator and BAMMA co-promoted last year’s event in Chalmer’s hometown of Newcastle, England, where the Geordie Shore star knocked out Karl Donaldson in the first round of the BAMMA co-main event.
His upcoming Bellator debut against Griffiths is being advertised as a ‘catchweight feature event’.

Chalmers, 30, made his pro MMA debut last year and has gone on to win three straight fights via first-round stoppage, beating Greg Jenkins, Alex Thompson and Donaldson under the BAMMA banner.
His next opponent, Griffiths, hails from Derbyshire, England and sports a professional record of 4-5. Although he has more losses than wins, Griffiths has much more experience under his belt than Chalmers, having competed in the amateur circuit from 2011-2012 and transitioning to the professional leagues in 2013.
Bellator 200 takes place on May 25 at the SSE Arena in London, England. The pay-per-view is headlined by a middleweight championship clash between Rafael Carvalho and former UFC contender Gegard Mousasi.
