Todd_DuffeeCarrying on with the rumor from earlier today that Todd Duffee has agreed to meet Alistair Overeem at the Dec. 31st FieLDS Dynamite!! 2010 event, we’ve come up with some more rumors to add fuel to the fire.

Zeus over at MiddleEasy.com was able to dig up some more information on Overeem’s opponent for the event.

Apparently Bobby Lashley was approached about taking the fight but was asked for way to much money. Zeus reported the sum was a six figure number, but another source Jonathan Luther posted a sum of $80,000 on his Twitter account.

Luther also reports that Duffee agreed to take the fight for $60,000 and jumped the gun when he posted the fight on his Facebook page earlier today. He says Duffee is currently in Japan and that FEG will announce the match up as soon as Duffee can get a short term visa for the fight.

If Duffee can secure the visa it will be his first fight since his loss to Mike Russow in May at UFC 114.

Don’t get too excited about the fight even if it does happen, Luther also posted a note saying that Duffee hasn’t been training at all even with his upcoming Jan 29th bout for the Titan Fighting Championship promotion.

So take from this what you will, but it still interesting to see how this story will unfold.

UPDATE: Sherdog.com is reporting that a bout between Overeem vs. Duffee has a 50/50 chance of happening, which for fans is better than not happening at all. We’ll keep you updated as things occur.
