One-punch knockouts never get old …
Angelo “El Chinito” Leo scored an absolutely brutal knockout last night (Sat., Aug. 10, 2024), flat-lining Luis Alberto “Venado” Lopez with a counter left hook in round 10 inside Tingley Coliseum in this hometown of Albuquerque, N.M., to claim IBF’s Featherweight strap.
The finishing sequence saw Leo slip Lopez’s jab and land a perfect left hook that sent Lopez’s unconscious body to the canvas. Of course, he didn’t meet the 10 count.

Leo came into the boxing match as a heavy underdog (+350); however, he showed up to fight as if he should have been the favorite. The fight lasted 10 rounds, and Leo was up on the broadcasters’ “unofficial” scorecards, too.

Leo (25-1) is a former WBO World Super Bantamweight champion and is now IBF’s Featherweight champion, boasting 12 knockout wins to date. The 30-year-old is now riding a five-fight win streak.
Meanwhile, on top of losing his title, Lopez (30-3) snapped his 13-fight win streak with this devastating knockout. He defended his IBF Featherweight title four times prior to last night’s defeat.
Things could be worse … much worse.
