“I just accepted a fight yesterday, I don’t know if that’s supposed to be put out yet.”

Rumors have been swirling for the past couple of weeks that former WEC featherweight champ Urijah Faber would be making a return to the Octagon.

Faber, who announced his retirement after picking up a unanimous decision win over Brad Pickett in 2016, confirmed that he is, in fact, returning to the UFC and recently accepted a fight against an undisclosed opponent.

The fan favorite announced his comeback in an interview with former UFC welterweight title challenger turned commentator and analyst Dan Hardy, joking that Conor McGregor had been egging him on for months.

“Looking at today’s landscape, I just know that I can compete easily,” Faber said, per The MAC Life’s John Balfe. “I’ve stayed in great shape. It sounds like fun and the reason I stopped is because I wanted to. The reason I’m coming back is I have decided I want to … I just accepted a fight yesterday, I don’t know if that’s supposed to be put out yet.”

“Conor McGregor and I talk on occasion and he’s always, like, clawing at me, ‘Go get that snake! Go get that weasel!’ and you have other sentiment about that. ‘The story’s not over!’, you know? You know how Conor is. He’s hilarious. We have little private conversations on occasions like that.”

Faber, who turned 40 earlier this month, sports a professional MMA record of 33-10. Expect the UFC to announce his return in the coming days.
