RIO DE JANEIRO – It took about 23 minutes of several reporters beating around the bush at Thursday’s pre-UFC 153 media conference before one Brazilian journalist perfectly encapsulated a nation’s opinion on Anderson Silva vs. Stephan Bonnar.
“Anderson,” the reporter asked in his native Portuguese, “is it possible that in order for this fight to last longer, you could not hit Stephan so strongly?”
Silva, the UFC’s middleweight champion, is widely regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter in MMA history.
