It’s been a pretty shitty year for Brad Scott.

Not only did the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight lose a highly-controversial split decision to Carlo Pedersoli Jr. at UFC Liverpool back in May, the 170-pound “Bear” was subsequently notified of a potential anti-doping violation.

UFC.com brought word of the in-competition finding on Tuesday.

Scott (11-6) rose to fame as a middleweight runner-up on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): “Sm-Ashes,” where he came up short against eventual winner, Robert Whittaker, in late 2012. What followed was a ho-hum run of 3-4 and an eventual drop to welterweight.

Scott is provisionally suspended as United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) prepares its case; however, the promotion cautions that we should not rush to judgment, as every fighter flagged under the drug-testing program is entitled to “a full and fair legal process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed.”

You know, just in case Scott has been to Mexico or China in recent months.
