Who can it be knocking at my door?
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight attraction Brock Lesnar, who returned to mixed martial arts (MMA) last weekend with a decision win over Mark Hunt (video), was able to bypass the drug testing requirements handed down by United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
That hall pass, however, is about to expire.
“To my knowledge, Brock Lesnar has not notified USADA of his retirement from the UFC,” USADA spokesperson Ryan Madden told MMA Fighting. “Therefore, he remains subject to USADA testing and the UFC anti-doping policy.”
USADA likes to count by fives.
The current policy requires several months notice for any fighter coming out of retirement; therefore, Lesnar may not announce his departure from the hurt business just yet, lest he be willing to wait for months on end while USADA grades his Canadian lemonade.
In the meantime, the WWE superstar is already back in the title picture. For how long, remains to be seen.
