“Don’t even dream of this WW strap because that dream can turn into an Nightmare fast.”
It didn’t take long for Kamaru Usman to respond to Conor McGregor after the Irishman teased of a welterweight title fight against ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ in a recent interview with The MAC Life.
“I like the look of Kamaru Usman, I like the look of Colby (Covington),” McGregor said earlier this week. “I’m open to it all at 170. … I want the gold. I’m after the gold – 155, 170, they’re the belts I am chasing now.”
Usman, the reigning UFC welterweight champion, responded to McGregor via social media, warning ‘The Notorious’ that he would be entering a world of pain at 170-pounds.
My man @TheNotoriousMMA please just go in there and take your L from cowboy. Don’t even dream of this WW strap because that dream can turn into an Nightmare fast.

“My man @TheNotoriousMMA please just go in there and take your L from cowboy. Don’t even dream of this WW strap because that dream can turn into an Nightmare fast,” Usman posted on Twitter.
As Usman alluded to in his Tweet, McGregor will to return to the Octagon to take on Donald Cerrone later this month at UFC 246 and, should he win, the former dual-division champ is expected to call out ‘BMF’ king Jorge Masvidal. Judging by his recent interview with The MAC Life, however, McGregor appears to be keeping his options open.
UFC 246: McGregor vs. Cerrone takes place on Jan. 18 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
