The UFC is reportedly close to booking a women’s flyweight title fight between champion Valentina Shevchenko and Jessica Eye for UFC 238 in Chicago.
UFC 238 will go down June 8 at the United Center on the West side of Chicago. Although the UFC is working to finalize the 125-pound title fight to sit atop the card, bout agreements have not been signed yet, according to sources, the first of them beingESPN.
Shevchenko (16-3) took home the vacant title after defeating the former strawweight queen Joanna J?drzejczyk back at December’s UFC 231. The “Bullet” has long been considered one of the best female fighters in the world. Only double champion Amanda Nunes has beaten Shevchenko in the UFC.
As for Eye (14-6), since dropping down to a more natural competing weight of 125 pounds, Eye has rattled off three straight wins. She defeated Katlyn Chookagian at the same December event that saw Shevchenko take home the title.
As of this writing, there are no fights officially booked for UFC 238.
