Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is slowly but surely filling up its UFC 236 pay-per-view (PPV) fight card, set for Sat., April 13, 2019 in a venue and city to be named. What we do know for sure, is that Israel Adesanya will battle Kelvin Gastelum for the interim middleweight strap.
More on that 185-pound showdown right here.
Joining them at the upcoming mystery event will be flyweight standouts Paige VanZant and Poliana Botelho, who collide for a spot in the 125-pound pecking order. That’s according to a new report from Combate (via MMA Fighting).
VanZant (8-4) snapped a two-fight losing streak with her submission win over Rachael Ostovich at the UFC Fight Night 143 event back in January. “12 Gauge” is hoping to gain some traction after abandoning the 115-pound weight class late last year.
Botelho (7-2), who is no stranger to the strawweight division, is looking to rebound from her submission loss to Cynthia Calvillo at UFC Fight Night 140 last November. The Brazilian currently stands at 2-1 inside the Octagon and finished six of her seven wins by way of knockout.
Stay tuned for more UFC 236 fight card announcements in the coming weeks.
