Bellator 258 just got whole lot more flavor added to its already-robust lineup with the addition of a Welterweight scrap between No. 2-seeded Michael Page taking on the No. 6-ranked 170-pound contender on the roster, Derek Anderson.
Page is currently riding a four-fight win streak and is 13-1 overall in his Bellator career. “Venom’s” lone defeat came at the hands of current division champion, Douglas Lima, at Bellator 221 in May 2019 via knockout (see it here). If he can collect his fifth straight win against a high-ranked foe such as Anderson, it could be just what he needs to get back to another title fight.
As for Anderson, he is 5-1 in his last six fights for the Viacom-owned MMA promotion and is currently enjoying a three-fight win streak. A win over “Venom” definitely shoots him into the Top 5 and inches him closer to his first-ever shot at claiming a world title.
Bellator 258 will feature a Bantamweight title fight between division kingpin, Juan Archuleta, taking on Sergio Pettis. In the co-main event, Anthony Johnson will face Yoel Romero in an opening round bout of the promotion’s Light Heavyweight Grand Prix. Also, Valerie Loureda returns to face Hanna Guy in women’s Strawweight action.
