Marvin Vettori and Karl Roberson faced each other in a Middleweight bout tonight (Sat., June 13, 2020) at UFC on ESPN 10 from inside UFC APEX from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Roberson landed first with a cross counter. Roberson feinted a good amount then connected with a 1-2. Vettori landed a couple jabs. Vettori latched onto a clinch and transitioned into a single leg takedown. Roberson nearly took his back and choked him, but Vettori spun into top position after the dangerous moment. Vettori settled into half guard. Vettori chased the guillotine choke. Roberson was forced to kick off the cage to escape, but he landed in top position! Vettori reversed soon afterward. “The Italian Dream” unloaded with heavy punches from half guard. Vettori moved to take the back and attack the neck. Moments later, he secured the tap!
This one may not have lasted an entire round, but there were some great scrambles! In those scrambles, Vettori proved himself the better man, routinely landing in top position and attacking the neck.
