‘Sexyama’ scored a first-round KO at ONE FC: King of the Jungle.
Ex-UFC veteran Yoshihiro Akiyama — better known as ‘Sexyama’ — picked up his first win since 2014 with a beautiful first-round knockout of Sherif Mohamed at ONE Championship: King of the Jungle at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on Friday.
Akiyama, who returned to the ring in 2019 after taking a three-and-a-half-year hiatus, dropped and finished Mohamed with a perfectly placed counter right hook as the Egyptian was lunging in with a series of wild, looping hooks. ‘The Shark’ (8-6 MMA) represented Egyptian Top Team (ETT) and entered the bout on a four-fight losing streak. The middleweight has lost all his fights under the ONE FC banner since signing with the Asian MMA promotion in 2017.
