Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Daniel Cormier is enjoying life as the promotion’s “champ-champ” after he made history by knocking out Stipe Miocic in the opening round of the heavyweight title fight at UFC 226 last July (see it again here).
To the victor go the spoils, and among the benefits “D.C.” — who is no stranger to having his mug all over television — is enjoying is making the media rounds on nationally-syndicated shows. One of his stops recently included appearing on “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” where Cormier talked about his life as UFC’s only current multi-division champion.
Of course, “DC” doesn’t have a fight lined up at the moment, but after revealing he has a broken right hand after cracking Stipe’s skull, it’s understandable to see why not.
Cormier fully intends on defending his Light Heavyweight belt first, though his plans to do so against Mauricio Rua went out the window after Anthony Smith took “Shogun” out. With no clear cut contender at 205 pounds, “DC” will have to let the division play out a bit more before he rides off into the sunset in a potential big-money heavyweight title fight against Brock Lesnar.
