Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim Welterweight champion Colby Covington took to social media yesterday to reveal that he was on his way to Las Vegas, Nevada, site of this weekend’s (Sat., March 2, 2019) UFC 235 pay-per-view (PPV) event.
Aside from Jon Jones defending his Light Heavyweight title against Anthony Smith in the main event, Tyron Woodley will defend his Welterweight strap against Kamaru Usman, which is of great interest to Colby, who many expected to be “The Chosen One’s” dance partner in “Sin City.”
Unsurprisingly, Colby took the opportunity to cause a little “Chaos” once he touched down, as he — megaphone in hand — crashed the open workouts earlier today (Thurs., Feb. 28, 2019) to mock Usman during his training session, telling him to keep his energy and expect to get knocked out on fight night.
Speaking of energy, where was Colby’s when Usman confronted him face-to-face?
Covington eventually left a few moments later with no incident. But with two days until fight night, it will be interesting to see if Usman and Covington cross paths again.
With “Chaos” making his presence felt already, one can expect him to be sitting front row inside the T-Mobile Arena, and maybe even make an appearance inside the Octagon to stare down the winner of Woodley vs Usman.
