Round 1: Yves Lavigne if the referee. A lot of footwork by both in the first minute. Pearson changes levels and takes down Swanson with a double-leg. Swanson powers back to his feet. Two minutes gone by. Swanson pops Pearson on the button with a right. Pearson falls and gets back up. Swanson lands a Capoeira kick, but lands on the mat. Swanson throws upkicks. Back to his feet. Swanson fans on a wild high kick. One minute left.Pearson seems to be looking for one big shot but hasn’t had the opportunity. Pearson goes for a single-leg, but couldn’t finish the takedown attempt. MMAFighting scores the round for Cub Swanson, 10-9.
Round 2: Both guys throwing jabs early. Swanson again goes for a big kick, doesn’t land this one. Pearson scores a takedown a minute in. Back on their feet. Pearson is cut under his right eye. Swanson goes for a flying knee, misses. Pearson catches Swanson’s leg, throws him to the mat, and absorbs a Swanson upkick on his way to the mat. Pearson postures up and lands several punches. He’s starting to throw elbows. Pearson peppering Swanson with strikes. Swanson back to his feet with a minute left. Swanson lands a front kick to the jaw, two right hands, and a big left hook that drops Pearson. Lavigne rushes in and stops the fight in Swanson’s favor.
