Watch as an earthquake rolls through Las Vegas and interrupts Rashad Evans’ UFC Hall of Fame induction speech.
Rashad Evans’ UFC Hall of Fame induction speech was interrupted by Mother Nature last night at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Evans, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame class of 2019, was giving his speech on Friday evening when an earthquake originating from Ridgecrest, California rolled right through the arena and caused tremors throughout the room.
Evans realized he was in the midst of an earthquake shortly after the room started shaking and joked that he had brought the thunder with him.

“Earthquake, baby!” Evans said as the tremors interrupted his speech. “That’s me bringing that heat.”
Per MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin, “according to reports, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit near Ridgecrest just a day after a 6.4 magnitude quake rocked the same area. A second earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale occurred just after the initial earthquake in California.”
Evans continued giving his speech after the tremors subsided and joined the likes of Michael Bisping, BJ Penn and Ronda Rousey as part of the UFC’s modern-era wing Hall of Fame.
Evans, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, retired from the sport in 2018 with a professional record of 19-8 (1 draw).
