Video: Floyd Mayweather responds to Conor McGregor

Floyd Mayweather offered a rather calm response to Conor McGregor’s most recent comments at the UFC 197 pre-fight presser.

For the past few months, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and retired undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather have been going at it.

The most recent rift between the two men began with Mayweather’s initial claims of racism towards the manner of which fans have reacted to their brand of self-promotion.

McGregor has since responded to Mayweather’s first wave of tirades in early January in a lengthy Facebook post. But the said issue seems to refuse to die its natural death when it was once again brought up at last week’s UFC 197 pre-fight presser.

“I think Floyd needs to learn before he opens his mouth. You don’t put a man like me in a situation like that,” McGregor said. “You don’t put me in a name that’s got to do with prejudice. You don’t know nothing about me.”

McGregor’s recent comments did get to Mayweather, and here is what the latter had to say. Surprisingly, it was not filled with as much hostility, unlike in the Irishman’s statements.

“All I said is this: in this world, racism still exists. But I’m not racist,” Mayweather said. “And if (McGregor) got offended, that’s life. Sometimes, people will get offended by certain things people say.”

“Just me, I have tough skin. I am built for anything.”
