Former women’s MMA star Gina Carano offers some advice to the beleaguered Ronda Rousey.
Gina Carano probably knows a thing or two about what Ronda Rousey is going through right now. After all, Gina was the first real star of women’s MMA, and ended up crossing into acting just as Rousey has tried to do. She was also soundly defeated in her last MMA bout to date.
Right after Tito Ortiz’s big farewell win at Bellator 170 over the weekend, FightHub caught up with the original “face of women’s MMA” to ask her about Rousey, and she believes that it’s ultimately up to Ronda herself to forge her own path:
“I think Ronda should do what ever she wants to do. She’s only 29. She’s an amazing athlete, but she needs to express herself as an artist too. So let her do what she wants to do, and just follow along in her journey and support her.”
Gina also gave her opinion on Tito winning his last bout, what is similar between life as a fighter and life as an actress, and the new movie she’s doing with Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes (aka Jay and Silent Bob).
Check out the whole thing above. Also, just for fun, here’s another FightHub video of Gina meeting (and getting hugged by) MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba.
