Watch Jake Paul and former UFC champ Tyron Woodley face off at Thursday’s Showtime PPV press conference and staredown ahead of their boxing match in August.

Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley mean business as they face off ahead of their Showtime PPV boxing match.

Paul vs. Woodley will take place at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, on Sun., Aug. 22, 2021, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, streaming online via Showtime pay-per-view (PPV). Ahead of their professional boxing bout, the two combatants went face-to-face at Showtime’s kick-off press conference on Thursday. Paul was also flanked by a giant, Transformers-like Jake Paul robot.

You can watch the press conference staredowns in the video embedded above.

Paul and Woodley have been at odds since the lead-up to Paul’s professional boxing match against Woodley’s dear friend, “Funky” Ben Askren. Paul fed Askren a first-round knockout. The win over Askren improved Paul’s pro boxing record to 3-0 with additional wins over NBA alum Nate Robinson and YouTuber Ali Eson Gib.

Woodley wrapped up his UFC career on the heels of four consecutive losses — to Vicente Luque, Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns and Kamaru Usman — dating back to March 2019. His resume of wins includes UFC Welterweight title fights against Darren Till, Demian Maia, Stephen Thompson and Robbie Lawler. “T-Wood” also beat Kelvin Gastelum, Carlos Condit, Josh Koscheck and Paul Daley, among others.
