Remember the old days of World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) when then-featherweight champion Jose Aldo was turning his opponent’s legs (like these) into corned beef hash?
He’s back.
“Junior” is preparing for his Max Holloway title unification bout at the upcoming at UFC 212 pay-per-view (PPV) event on June 3, 2017, from inside HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
“I’ll knock him out,” Aldo recently told the combat sports media (via MMA Fighting). “I’m done with wars. I’ve been in many wars already. You can be sure that there’s a knockout coming.”
“I have to respect my opponent, always, doesn’t matter who he is,” he continued. “But I’ll get in there and win, that’s a fact.”
Aldo is the featherweight champion now that Conor McGregor has moved up to 155 pounds, but during that wacky transition phase, the promotion decided an interim titleholder was necessary, a crown Holloway captured at UFC 206.
