Retired NFL running back Marshawn Lynch engaged in a little bit of playful sparring with UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold.

UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold is just over 2 months away from a scheduled title defense against Chris Weidman, the man he took the belt from this past December. The road to UFC 199 has already started for the California native, who can be seen here in an absolutely FIERCE sparring session with the one and only Marshawn Lynch. Rockhold posted this Instagram video of himself and the NFL star known as “Beast Mode”, and Lynch couldn’t land his jab, knee, or his flying crane kick at the end. I don’t know about you guys, but Rockhold looks like he means business.

Warming up with @beastmode all about that action

Lynch recently announced his retirement from the NFL — technically he hasn’t yet filed his retirement papers —  after 9 seasons with the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks, of which he appeared in two Super Bowls with the latter and hoisted the Lombardi Trophy in 2014. Injuries plagued his 2015-16 season, and he spent his rehabbing time doing MMA training with Tareq Azim in San Francisco.

And yes, the Seahawks should’ve given the ball to Marshawn Lynch at the 1 yard line at the end of Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots. Be quiet.
