They came, they saw, they nearly got run over.

Conor McGregor is in California finishing up his camp for the highly anticipated third fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. And while he lost the second meeting back in January of 2021, it doesn’t seem like he’s lost too many fans stateside based on this new video.

The video in question shows McGregor stepping outside of a restaurant to greet fans after word got out that he was in the neighborhood.

“Quiet end-of-camp team meal turns into streets shut down when word got around,” McGregor’s head coach John Kavanagh wrote on Twitter about the incident. “Nuts haha!”

Nuts is the right word. The massive crowd of fans erupts with cheers and cell phone flashes go off as he steps outside to shadow box for them. Some women scream like it’s Beatle-mania in it’s prime.

“Holy shit,” McGregor exclaims. “Jesus Christ, look at this.”

It takes multiple security guards a few minutes to clear a path for McGregor’s car as he attempts to leave. A number of the more hardcore ones sprint after him and you can see him get a little concerned as they slap at the back of his car.

“Careful!” he yells as they practically bounce off the side of his convertible.

“Wow that is incredible. What a place,” McGregor says once he breaks free. “I’m on the wrong side of the road here, look at this. America. Happy 4th of July! Woo hoo hoo! What a country, the United States of America.”

McGregor fights Dustin Poirier for the third time on July 10th at UFC 264 from the sold out T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Keep it locked to MMA Mania for all the news and updates surrounding the fight.
