So, you want to be a fighter?

“Iron” Michael Chandler is having a rough post-fight recovery following his five-round battle with Charles Oliveira that went down two weeks ago at UFC 309 inside the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City (watch highlights).

As you know by now, Chandler lost a lopsided unanimous decision and got basically battered for the entire fight minus two minutes in the final round.

Today (Tues., Nov. 26, 2024), Chandler posted a pretty alarming video of himself showing off his battered swollen leg while in a sauna.

In the clip, Chandler says, “Look at this knee. “He then presses two fingers into the skin of his legs, leaving a pair of indents that don’t go away. He then says, “The swelling goes all the way down.”

Soooo, yeah, Chandler is still messed up from his beatdown from “Do Bronx,” but it’s not surprising as “Iron” revealed he was peeing blood after UFC 309 and in the most pain of his entire life.

Chandler did release another video on his Instagram that provided a brief update on his health and future plans.

“We’re hitting the red light bed, the HyperMax, the cold plunge, the contrast therapy, the sauna, the PEMF mat, we’re hitting the hyperbaric chamber, we are hitting everything because the road to recovery started on Monday,” Chandler said. “Got my MRIs and all that stuff set up, and getting the results back, we’ll see what kind of damage we took, but either way, we do not slow down. Either way, we continue to move forward.”

“The future still looks bright. 2025 is going to be big. You guys know there’s some big fights out there. There is a fight that fell through that needs to come to fruition to finish The Ultimate Fighter 31. You’ve got other guys saying my name, other guys who are interested in the fight, and you’ve got the fans reeled in because there is nobody else that will bring the type of passion, violence, speed, mixtures of emotions, the dichotomy of emotions all the way from one end of the spectrum all the way to the other,” Chandler concluded.

Chandler will have a painful Thanksgiving and Christmas season, but I guess we’ll see him at the top.

Or, he’s going to die.
