Nate Diaz does his open workouts in typical Diaz fashion.
Many fighters take their open workouts seriously, while others take the time to talk to the fans. Nate Diaz, however, did his in typical Diaz fashion.
The 34-year-old Stockton native lit up what looks like a rolled up cannabis joint onstage, which was met by cheers of fans in attendance. He later shared the love and passed it around for the crowd to enjoy.
Diaz did clarify that he was smoking CBD, the non-psychoactive cannabis component known for its medical uses. His supply was courtesy of Game Up CBD, a company he launched with his brother Nick.
“I gotta smoke the (THC) weed after the fight,” he told media members during the post-workout scrum. “So I had to smoke Game Up CBD.”
“CBD by Game Up Nutrition. It’s good for you.”
In 2018, CBD was taken off the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) banned substance list. That means it is also off USADA’s jurisdiction, both in and out of competition.
Win or lose after his fight against Anthony Pettis on Saturday at UFC 241, we all know Nate will be sparking up the good stuff.
