A local NBC affiliate in South Florida shot video of UFC light heavyweight Thiago Silva being taken into custody at a Broward Sheriff’s Office main jail after an alleged incident Thursday night at the Pablo Popovitch Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and a subsequent standoff with police at his home.
Silva faces multiple charges, including two counts of commit/attempt specified felony could cause death, aggravated battery with deadly weapon, and resisting officer-obstruct without violence.
In response to why he allegedly pulled a gun on his wife, Thaysa, Silva said, “She want my money. She want my house.”
