Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion Rashad Evans announced his retirement from mixed martial arts (MMA) after nearly fifteen years in the fight game.
“Suga” spent 13 of those years competing inside the Octagon, racking up impressive victories, accolades and leaving behind plenty of memories and highlights for fight fans to enjoy for years to come.
Taking on and defeating some of the best in the sport, trying to break down his top 5 moments inside the eight-walled cage is a tough task, but UFC did just that on the heels of Rashad’s retirement.
Here is the rundown:
5. Knocking out Tito Ortiz at UFC 133
4. Knocking out Sean Salmon at UFC Fight ight 8
3. Defeating Brad Imes to become The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Winner
2. Knocking out Chuck Liddell at UFC 88
1. Knocking out Forrest Griffin to win Light Heavyweight title at UFC 92
Unfortunately, Evans didn’t ride off into the MMA sunset on a win, as he lost his last fight contests with his last victory coming against Chael Sonnen way back in 2013. Still, that doesn’t negate what Rashad did early on in his career, which is definitely going to be enough to earn him a spot in UFC’s Hall of Fame.
You’ve seen the list and the highlights, care to dispute any or make your own top five list of “Suga’s” most memorable moments inside the Octagon?
