Conor McGregor is reportedly gearing up for a return to the UFC.
According to a recent report by TMZ Sports, UFC star Conor McGregor is preparing for a return to the Octagon.
Sources close to TMZ say ‘The Notorious’ is ‘ready to fight now’, but there was no hint of who the Irishman might face in the cage.
TMZ also released video footage of McGregor sparing with Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt Hans Molenkamp, who headed down to SBG Ireland to train with the former ‘champ-champ.’
“Sparring with @thenotoriousmma is like juggling dynamite You never know when or where it will explode. Always great times with #conormcgregor and @sbgnaas,” Molenkamp posted on social media.
McGregor, 30, last fought against undefeated lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, where he was submitted in the fourth round of the PPV-smashing main event,
Although McGregor has expressed interest in a bout with Donald Cerrone in the past, it’s speculated that the SBG Ireland standout could return to the cage against former interim champ Tony Ferguson, who recently parted ways with McGregor’s management company, Paradigm Sports.
Cerrone, 36, called out McGregor after his dominant win over Al Iaquinta this past Saturday at UFC on ESPN+ 9, teasing of a summer showdown with the Dubliner.
Sources close to TMZ say the timing, opponent, and money must all meet McGregor’s approval.
“He’s ready to fight now. He’s in training. Everything needs to line up correctly … opponent, place and of course, money.”
