With UFC 238 now in the rear-view mirror (full results here), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is gearing up for its next pay-per-view (PPV) offering. UFC 239 is set to go down inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 6, 2019, and will feature a championship double-header for the ages.
Headlining the card is a Light Heavyweight title fight that will see champion, Jon Jones, attempt to defend his belt for the the third time in eight months when he faces hard-hitting Thiago Santos. Thiago earned his first crack at UFC gold after running through his opponents one after another (evidence here).
Meanwhile, “Bones” is still doing his thing at a high level, most-recently dispatching Anthony Smith at UFC 235 this past March, right after defeating Alexander Gustafsson a second time last December.
In the co-main event, pound-for-pound women’s GOAT, Amanda Nunes, will look to add yet another impressive win on her expanding resume when she faces ex-titleholder, Holly Holm. Also, Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren will collide in a Welterweight scrap that could very well proved the next title contender.
If that weren’t enough, Luke Rockhold will make his Light Heavyweight debut when he faces Jan Blachowicz.
