Watch the staredown between Saturday’s championship boxing headliners Vasyl Lomachenko and Guillermo Rigondeaux.
Vasyl Lomachenko (9-1, 7 KOs) and Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-0-1 NC, 11 KOs) are just one day away from their highly-anticipated matchup at Madison Square Garden Theater in New York. Lomachenko is the reigning WBO junior lightweight champion, whereas Rigondeaux is moving up from junior featherweight (122 lbs) to take on the Ukrainian in the first-ever boxing match between two two-time Olympic gold medalists.
Top Rank Boxing’s partnership with ESPN means fans in the United States will get to watch this showdown between two of boxing’s best technicians and tacticians on cable television, as opposed to HBO, Showtime, or pay-per-view. ESPN televised the weigh-ins on Friday, with Lomachenko coming in at 129 pounds, and Rigondeaux at 128.4. What ensued was what can only be described as a very long staredown.
