Herbert Hoover, Charles Schwab… Vitor Belfort?
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight was just accepted into Stanford University, according to a recent Facebook post, because he worked hard and believed in himself. That’s mighty impressive when you consider Stanford had a five-percent acceptance rate in 2015.
“The Phenom” explains:
It is with great pride that I come to tell you that I was accepted at Stanford, one of the leading teaching and research universities in the world. I learned that education and sport are the basis for any person, but certainly education comes in first place. It’s never is too late to achieve your dreams. You just need to work hard and believe in yourself #teambelfort
Not coincidentally, the Brazilian now has the physique of a bookworm.
If Belfort wants an education in jiu-jitsu, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza may take him to school when they collide at the UFC Fight Night 88 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, which takes place on May 14 in Brazil (more on that fight here).
Now all we have to do is figure out what the 38-year-old freshman plans to major in.
